I cannot follow N.Robin's idea. Even if in my opinion street art is a way of exchanging your feelings and ideas, I think it's unrespectful to draw on a wall that doesn't belong to you (even if the artwork is beautiful).

I can no agree more with you. In my opinion there should be art everywhere. I think for street art particularly for graffiti the government had to build some huge walls on which everyone can paint. So if a lot of artists (or "normal" people) give there personal touchs to those walls, it would become a great work of art and nobody will ever say that it deteriorate a wall. To my mind, that will help artists to be known and maybe a day to sell there painting.

You are so right ; I think artists have to paint in all places and as far as I'm concerned, the government shouldn't have the right to stop the strreetart. In my opinion, every artist want to send a message to the people and it will be great if their work was more respected and appreciated. As a result, the art can make the public space more beautiful (and more peaceful ?)...

I cannot agree more with Vincent's idea. I consider the street artists could be express their sentiments in publics spaces, and, to my mind, the government musts to encourage works of art. However, as for me, it should be survey that art, if it will be legal, to the street doesn't become an graffiti vandals space.

I think he's right. But I'm having mixed feelings. The first comment made me hesitate. On the one hand, street art is a very interesting type of art and it allows anyone to express their ideas and points of views. You're able to see the world from their angle and think about society differently. It's important that street art stays legal and free and that as said before, the government shouldn't ban it. But on the other hand, it's true that it still something considered as vandalism and its (maybe I'm not sure) illegal in some places. But as far as I'm concerned, we still have our liberty of speech (at least in France) and we should take advantage of it.

Personnaly, I think the street art should be more present in public space because as the music, the street art gives a message to the passants with each artwork. Maybe not on the school or the town hall because it's officials builds but yes on others builds as train station, street etc...

I definitely agree with you. I believe too that the street art is important to convey messages and denounce different things and that the government should encourage this but I think that the street art cannot be in all the places:for exemple,as you say, not on official builds or ,to my mind, not next to historical monuments. I guess that a graffiti will defacing a medieval monument.

I agree with your opinion but in my mind street art is vandalism if it's placed in random place, because the artists are not allowed to paint and draw anywhere and I think reserved place for street art should exist, in that way people who like street art could go there.

I think Victor is right. His idea is a very good one. To my mind, art makes the world happier, so why there's just a little art in public space ? There should be more art in public space.Even just for poor persons who can't buy a museum ticket.

To my mind, street art should be more present in public places because everyone may express himself as he wants. However,I think that street art have to be organized;for example, some graffitis that have been made only to degrade public places aren't, for me,street art.

I agree with Alexandre, some people are only dregrade public places. To my mind art must have a message to convey or something important to say, like making passers-by react about injustice. So I think that there should be more art in the public spaces, but art with a message.

I completely agree with you, I think street art should be more present in public spaces, as this form of art is accessible to everyone (everyone can say what he wants) and can also be seen by many people because it's outside and free: you're not constrained to pay like when we want to see works of art in a museum for example. But this form of art shouldn't become vandalism.

Anonyme a dit…

I totally agree with Alexandre. In my opinion, there should be more art in the public space but I'm talking about real art. Not stupid graffitis who doesn't mean anything, I'm talking about paintings who have a message, or drawings with a significations or so many other things... Art has the ability to reunite people or change their way to think.
In a public space, an artwork makes people smile, just like Ugo said. So why not ?
Charlotte D. 2nd10

I couldn't agree more with Alexandre. I believe street art should be more present in public spaces so everyone will be able to see it, even poor people.
But as Alexandre said, some graffitis are useless, they don't hide any message, sometimes they're even vulgar and I think those should be erased.

AUGUSTIN a dit…

I agree with M.Robin, and i think it's a very good idea to show art in the street because it's accessible for everyone and anybody can express his idea, but only if the artwork is beautiful or the message is respectful.
It's free and can be a cause of embellishment for a city like London, a city with grey colors.

Sorry, it's N.Robin :)

Anonyme a dit…

I'm agree, for me there should be more art in public space but just if art is beautiful and with a veritable message, not just a graffiti who defacing the place.
But I don't think there should be in every public space because it's too much. That's why I believe there should be just in more place than now.

I agree with M.Robin's idea. To my mind art should be more present in the public space and could become a kind of entertainment for people. Also I believe that people walking in the street should be able to express their feelings on a white board. It would take them a minute and help them feel better.
But I also think that some graffitis are useless and people should not be able to do what they want with someone else's wall.

I agree with Augustin, to my opinion, art should be seen by everyone because it´s a big part of culture so it should be more art in street if, like Augustin said, it´s beautiful and respectful.

I agree with mrs robin, the art, and street art , is still not present enough in the public space because the street belongs to everybody . There are a lot of wall , and to much ugly and dirty…the city are so sad and so grey , I belive a town must be in colors for its people , it is more plesant and happy to have instead of the monotony of walls. More over street art allows to make art free and for everybody. Street art made our streets a beautiful gallery.

You are se right! It musn't be forgotten that this "art" destroy so many places. And as for as I'm concerned most of tags and grafitis I have seen in my life are ugly and don't mean anything. But I can admit that IF the work of art has a sense and it bend into the background it could be very original and swag! :-)
Gaëlle Gauchet, 2nd 9

Anonyme a dit…

You are so right Yannis!
The city is sad with grey walls, and steet art and art generaly make it funniest, more colourated and more attractive but to me the work of art must had a signification or juste beautiful and respectuf but if the art isn't good it's juste a trash and they aren't nessesary.
Clemence Maurice

Anonyme a dit…

i think street art should be more present in the streets because it makes art accessible to some people that cannot usually go to the museum, or other places, but other "works of arts" are usefull, they're aren't delivering any message and they can be irrespectfull.
Elsa Bardinet

I agree with most of your opinions.
I must say that I would like to see more art work in the street even it's some of people don't like it because I guess it can enjoy the life of every one ! :D
Street Art should continue to grow to become a " real " art in mind of every one !

Hey,
I believe art should be present everywhere, as Alienor,Alexandre and many others says.
I mean we cannot all go to museom, is that a reason for being out of all of that?
That is my point of view, but I really think that everyone can uderstand and love art. And for me, everyone should be able to see, and apreciate Art. But I also understand all of my friend's point of views. I just want people to understand that is not because you are poor that you are not able to like art. And that's why for me, we need more art in public spaces. (But we can also keep art in museoms 😉)
Money should not be a barrier to art.
I respect every ideas. That's what I personnally think.
Thanks.

To my mind, I think street art should be more present in the streets and public places because it makes them colorfull and happier. Moreover, art could be accesible for everybody, by example if people can't go to museum. And as far as I'm concern I think it's a good way to convey a message or to allow artists to express themselves. But I'm completly agree with Elsa when she says street art must be respectful and beautiful.

I can not agree more with you and with everything said before. As for me I guess it's like liberty of thinking or writer's liberty, if they can write almost everything they want so why artists couldn't draw where they want ?
And to me I'd really like to see more street art on the street.

I agree with everything which was said before and I think that there should be special walls where street artists can show and share their opinons. Moreover if it's interesting !

I agree with Marine, the art should be accessible for everyone but the homeless can not pay the entrance of the museum they can only have an access to street art which is unfair. I also agree with Alexandre in the fact that street art must be respectfull and not deteriorate public place just make more beauty in them. However there is other type of art that should be accessible in public space instead to be kept in museum.
